An unexpected but very nice detour!

It is a beautiful morning with sunshine and a perfect temperature. You have
already forgotten all those miles in heavy rain the previous days. Now we
only have to get home. We take the wrong way a couple of times and end up
on some strange roads, but that's only a good thing! We find some really
great roads that way. The closer we get to the border the more boring the
roads would become, or so we thought. Suddenly we come up on a road sign
we had not seen before. We had to turn around to see if we saw what we thought
we saw. Yes, we did. A big sign with three smaller signs saying that the
road to the next town is narrow, constantly turning and steep. We just had
to take that detour. It was all worth it, because it was a very nice road
indeed. Like a roller coaster and with perfect asphalt, newly laid, nice
and smooth, and hardly any traffic at all. So it was left to us to decide
the pace.
At this point we are pretty tired so we all look forward to some rest
on the ferry crossing between Horten and Moss. There we exhausted lay down
on a few couches after buying some snacks for our last Norwegian money.
When the ferry arrives at Moss we only have a short distance until we reach

the E6 road and a rather boring transport stage before we get back to Sweden.
As we are getting closer to home you start to think back on the days that
have past and I can definitely say it was a few good days inspite of all
the rain. Norway is so close, but still the scenery it quite different with
all the mountains and fjords. This makes it perfect for a motorcycle vacation.
Curvy roads with sometimes drastic changes in elevation, all the long tunnels,
some several kilometers long, all the ferries where you get some rest and
time for a snack. It is all very wonderful and I am sure we will return
to Norway on motorcycles many more times. We have thought about going to
Iceland some time, so maybe I will be back with a story from that. For now
we are all glad to be back home safe after yet another adventure in Norway.
Thank you...
Maybe we'll meet on the road.
